Backlinks Stop the crazy trading!
Okay everywhere you go you hear google rates you on how many links you have linking to your site. You also hear about the infamous link trade!
Let me tell you straight off, do not trade links. Why should you? First of all trading links is a bad way to get links back to your site. Search engines like it more when a site links to you and you are not linking back. That means to the search engine your content is quality.
The problem is for most people how to get link without negotiating link trades. Well the answer is so incredibly easy no one is speaking of it. Its profiles! You can create profiles for free all over the place. Myspace, facebook, yahoo, msn, google, and twitter are the major social sites to create profiles on. However it doesn’t end their.
Create profiles on social bookmarking sites also. I know of over 100 social bookmarking sites that all allow you to create profiles and each one allows you to add a link back to your site. Thats hundreds of free one way links. But wait, it still doesn’t end their.
You also have web forums. Most bulletin board software on web forums allow you to create a profile, add a signature, etc. The profile is a static one way link back to your site. You don’t even have to make a post! So where else can you get free profiles?
How about blog sites? Yup thats right. A lot of wordpress blogs allow you to create a profile and add a link. You can also create blogger profiles without owning a blog. The same is true of livejournal.
Also don’t forget to create profiles at your free article directory sites, and your free press release sites! They both also offer profiles most often and just another way for a free link!
The truth is creating profile is very time consuming but there are literally tens of thousands of free linkbacks to be had if you are willing to take the time to do it.
Let me also give you a little piece of advise that will allow you to beat the current system. See common belief is you need links from relavent websites. This is not the case for search engine rankings if you create your profile in the correct manner.
Simply put, use a keyword or keyphrase for your profile name and use a different keyword or keyphrase for your real name. For example most of the sites I have profiles on I can be found as one of the following: “blogging for bucks”, “bloggingforbucks”, blogging4bucks”, or “blogging 4 bucks”.
Because your name becomes your keywords, your link relevancy is greater on search engines!
Now when it comes to getting other blogs to link for you, I have one piece of advise, let your content work for itself! If someone REALLY thinks your content is good, they are going to link to you. Trust me on this.
If you are not getting people who link to you without you linking back, its because your content is not interesting or is not original. You need to change your site at that point and figure out whats wrong!
