AdsVert Review

So I told you a couple of days ago I have been checking out all these viral programs seeing which ones are good and which ones aren’t. Well because of that I have found a new goldmine of traffic.

As you can see I have added some text advertising to the top of the page. This is part of a system called AdsVert. This is a system set up very similar to adsense. There are thousands and thousands of websites who display these text ads on their websites and you can display your ads to those people.

The difference between this system and the google adsense system is that this system is point based, and therefore free. When you sign up for your free account you are given 2000 credits. This means you can display your text advertisement 2000 times across highly targeted websites. This does NOT ensure you 2000 clicks!

In order to display your ads more then 2000 times you need to earn credits. This is the great part of this system. The credits are not only easy to earn, they are in your favor! You get an average of 3 credits for every 1 person who views the ads you place on your page.

So, as you can see I have added the script above to display text ads. I have had over 300 views and earned over 1000 credits sense I added them yesterday. This means for every one person who see’s ads on your site, 3 other sites display your ads!

Okay so obviously there is a difference between this and google adsense because if you advertise with google adsense you are guaranteed clicks for your money. However imagine if you could take away the guaranteed clicks, would you still think it a good system? Would you still have ads displayed even if clicks were not guaranteed? Thats what we are talking about! You may get clicks, you may not. But you will have displayed ads!

Wait though, there is an option for clicks however it is ONLY available via payment. This is not part of the free system at all. You can buy blocks of clicks for various prices and plans. To me there is no point, if I can display the ads I will get clicks eventually without paying. Even if I do pay no one can force a visitor to click. That means I am just paying to keep my lick in the system without credits.

Now keep reading because there is something very unique about this program that makes it extra special. First of all, the ads you display, can be to any website. They can be to a website you own or to an affiliate site or to a product. The choice is yours. The only thing not allowed is the usual adult, hate, etc.

Also, and this is really interesting, you don’t even need to own the website you are displaying the advertisements on. You can display ads on affiliate pages, MLM pages, or whatever else you want. Its done with a unique script similar to the unstoppable popup script I offer.

Folks I can’t say enough good things about adsvert.com. This is truely unlike any other system you have tried and I assue you I am in this for the long haul! Try it out for yourself you won’t be disappointed!

Advertise free for life

One of the things I have been examining a lot lately are these viral marketing websites. Most of them I am finding to be absolute garbage. One that I have found however is really very interesting. The program is called Advertising free for life.

The reason I found it to be so interesting is because when I signed up I found I had 1000 free credits on there system. This could be used to purchase 100 free ads on their their system that link back to my website.

Well its not the greatest thing I have ever seen, but at the same time I am not going to refuse free advertising. Well the traffic I got from that advertising was very impressive and actually seemed rather high in quality. I even got a couple of referrals from them. So I decided to look further into the program.

Well to say I was impressed is an understatement. First they make it VERY enticing to want to market! They have all sorts of giveaways for affiliates. For example they are giving away $75 for whoever refers the 6000th member.

The also have a contest going on to win an Ibook or $1000 in cash for whoever gets the most signups over the next couple weeks. The same contest has a list of about 10 runner up prizes like Ipods, cash, free system credits, etc.

Well thats pretty cool but I wanted to learn more about how to use the system to build traffic so I continued to dig deeper. I sadly didn’t find a lot about getting credits for free except through referrals, however at the same time I wasn’t shown a system where I am forced to surf advertising either. However there is always the paid offers.

Well to say I was impressed with their rates was an understatement. I have seen countless programs that are similar (though not exact) in design that are more then 10 times as expensive. So yes, I have paid into this system. I paid for a $17 a month plan and they give me 1000 ads every month. I can use these to display virtually any product, affiliate page, or website I wish.

They also have more expensive plans that allow for even more ads and they have one time payment plans. However what I found to br great and was ultimately the deciding factor for me, was they offer paypal for a payment method.

So even if you don’t plan on buying into the system, I say check it out anyway. First of all you help me get a referral that helps me win things link money, second you get free QUALITY traffic to your website, and lastly, what have you got to lose?

Viral Link Exchange

viral link exchange

viral link exchange

A lot of people are seriously either misinformed or somehow came to some wrong conclusions about links and thats what I want to talk to everyone about today.

One of a search engines biggest factors when determining a websites search rankings and search terms is based off other sites linking in. Now in the days of old when this was first discovered, people are starting to everyone and anyone the could and started negotiating trades anywhere possible.

Because of this link trade sites started popping up everywhere that would give you snippets of php and javascript code to automatically trade links with others. As this progressed the value of search engines started to deteriorate. Why? Because people were flooding it with irrelevant link terms pointing to their websites.

So search engines made a few rules to stop this from happening. The first rules they put in place were that link trades must contain relevant links. They based relevancy upon the content surrounding the page in question. The problem with this method is the link information would spread quickly around a small group, and then become stagnant.

For example 15 blogs all suddenly link to a new website all around the same time frame, each copying the link from the blog before until it gets back to the originating poster. Now that new site has an instant 15 hits, but then what. On top of this was the fact that it isn’t always fair to only base links off relevant content.

Take a personal blog for example. The owner may have an interest in nascar and cooking and want to link to both sites from his blog, even though he really only blogs about his personal poetry. So search engines started to fix things even more.

The newest implementations say that one way links are the best way to measure a sites relevance. This means the number of links coming into a site which isn’t linking back. These types of links are the absolute hardest to get. I mean how easy is it to say to someone, I can’t link back to you but would you link to me?

Okay so some people know of the a-b-c link where you say to someone, hey I will link to you from this website if you link to my other website from yours. These link trades are actually highly effective but are also very hard to negotiate with people.

Well honestly before now there was no real solution for this problem but I have come up with one. I call the solution the viral link exchange. The way viral link exchange works is that first a user goes to the website and see’s 2 lists, each list contains a series of links and link codes to other websites and blogs.

The first list on viral link exchange is the paid inclusion. From this list a a user selects 3 link codes (the link codes are displayed with the links) which they will add to their website or blog.

Then they select two more link codes from the viral link exchange free inclusion list. They add these two links along with the three links from the paid inclusion to their website.

This means the visitor of viral link exchange has added 5 links to their blog, three from the paid inclusion and two from the free.

At this point they can submit their own link into the listing. After I verify all five links have been properly added to their website, I approve their link and it goes live.

All free sites within the system get 10 return links and are then removed! That means they get twice as many links back as they add to their website from viral link exchange. However that’s not all.

If you are paying attention the way the viral link exchange system is set up, the 10 return links are going to be from 10 random website, not the ones the visitor added to their blog. That means 10 one links for the price of 5.

I ensure each free link submitted to viral link exchange gets fair and evenly distributed links by adding all new links to the bottom of the list, then rotating each link back to the bottom when someone links to it.

Now as for the paid inclusion. First of all let me just say paid inclusion means you don’t have to link to other sites to have your site added to the system. It also means your link is not removed after it receives 10 links, instead it is displayed for one full month no matter how many links it gets. Also the list of paid links are displayed in random order each time the page is loaded to ensure paid links are evenly distributed.

So where does the viral part come in? Well that’s whats so great about this system, its so embedded into the system itself, no one even realizes its happening. Basically its simple. One of the paid links, is a link back to the viral link exchange.

This means people are constantly linking to viral link exchange and bringing new people to the site. New people, means more links in the system and more reason to add your link over and over.

Also be sure when you are checking the website out to notice I have started an affiliate program for the site through paydotcom that pays out 25% on all sales!

Now my last piece of information…. I have had a few complaints that viral link exchange looks like a scam site, doesn’t look automated enough, or simply doubters that think this won’t work.

If you are one of those who checks out the page and thinks there is no way this could work, let me tell you, try it just 1 time. You’ve wasted more in life on less I am sure. This takes a few minutes of your time, costs nothing, and ultimately what have you to lose? Come on! So again, go try the system out now, you will be very impressed!

Trek Pay Review: Personal Blog Affiliates

trek pay

trek pay

One of the harder things to do is figure out exactly what type of affiliates and advertising will work best for different types and styles of blogs. Sure for some blogs it is very obvious, for example its fairly straight forward that if you visit my sons Ben 10 alien force blog you are going to find Ben 10 products and merchandising.

However what if you have a personal blog all about you. For example what if your blog is the type of blog that is filled with surveys about your likes and dislikes, contains applets for your favorite online games, and perhaps some sort of virtual pet.

What type of products would you advertise on this type of blog? This is a problem many personal bloggers face. A lot of them settle to just put google ads and similar pay per click advertising on their blogs and let the ad companies select the ads for them and this is fine. However there is not much to be had in the way of residual income this way.

Residual income is income that comes in monthly with little to no effort, or more likely, it requires a lot of work in the beginning but less and less as time goes on, but the money keeps coming.

If it sounds confusing just ask yourself this. If you are using google adwords to generate money, each month you get paid based on the number of clicks you get. If for some reason your blog goes offline for an entire month, how much money do you make? Nothing right? No one can visit your blog therefore no one can click on your ads. If no one can click ads, you can’t get paid.

With residual income its a lot different. With residual income you get paid on many different factors. For example you may get paid a certain percent of the income generated by others you bring into a program. Therefore if your blog goes down, you are still making money off others. This is residual income at its finest.

That’s what I want to talk to you about today. A unique fun way to make some residual income that is perfect for personal blogs. Please note this program is meant for personal bloggers and is not a get rich quick scam! If you read about it on other websites people often make false claims about how much can be made or has been made with the program.

The program is actually a two part program called trek pay and trek advertising. First trek advertising is an advertising and marketing solution for websites. The way the marketing solution works is that you pay for advertising, and trek advertising sends you the exact type of traffic you need for the exact type of reason you want.

If you are looking to increase clicks on you affiliate links, trek advertising sends you traffic that will click on your third part links (aka affiliate links). If you provide your own products and content, trek advertising sends you traffic that will seriously read and be interested in your products and content.

All you have to do is simply tell the system what type of ads you have on your website and then people will find your site using the trek pay search feature.

For those with affiliate advertising the way it works is members of the trek pay system visit your website, they are encouraged through the system to click your ads. When they click, your advertising revenue will sky rocket and the searchers find what they were originally seeking. The charge is $.02 per click. Therefor as long as your ads pay you more then $.02 per click, you are going to make GREAT money.

If you do not have 3rd party advertising on your website the trek advertising solution sends only those interested in your services. So they will only check out your own sites material and not advertising. This is quality traffic! Real people looking through your website!

What really makes trek advertising work is understanding trek pay. Trek pay is an easy system of generating extra cash. The more active a member is, the faster they get paid. A member is awarded credits each time they do one of the following:

1. When a member does a search and visits a client website, credits are given to the member.

2. If a member refers another person to TrekPay or trek advertising they are also awarded credits.

The idea is to build up as many credits in a week as you possibly can.
Each week trek pay puts a dollar figure on those credits based on the amount of advertising slots paid for and the amount of members clicking on various ads.

When trek pay does this, they replace your weekly credits with the dollar amount they are worth for that week. The more credits you have, the faster you can get paid and the more money you make. Using this system you can generate up to $50 a week (anything after $50 from the credit system will not be paid).

After the weekly $50 you can generate there is an additional way to earn. This additional method is based off sales commissions. When a member is credited with a sale from trek advertising they will receive an immediate deposit into their account.

This means its very important for trek pay members to advertise thier referral pages! A member may earn $50 dollars per week with their credit system. However, earnings for commissions are unlimited.

Currently trek pay will allow you a 12.5% commission rate on each sale directly to the original referrer. In order to request payment you must have at least $5.50 in the account and you must also have PayPal Account.

Joining trek pay is free and the more you use it and the more you get others to use it the more profitable it becomes. I spend about an hour a day on the site and bring in almost $85 extra a month just through this program.

Also by adding a link to trek pay on your website, when others visit your custom affiliate landing page and make a sale, you generate commissions.

Like I said in the beginning of the article, this type of advertising and generating money is not easy at first and its certainly not for everyone. However for those with personal websites and a little dedication, this is a great additional residual income. Just get friends and family to sign up and use it and you will be making some money very quickly.

By the way trek pay and trek advertising are both very new projects to the internet. They are actually in pre-release beta version still. However they are continuing to pay out every week! Whats even better is they already have over 53,000 members and that number is increasing by thousands a month (meaning there is still time to get in on this and make money).

I strongly encourage checking it out. There page is not very enticing or informative, but the program is good and does work. Best of luck!

Google adsense or affiliate advertising?

affiliate marketing

affiliate marketing

Its a question every serious blogger asked themselves as some point, should I be using adsense to make money or should I have affiliate links on my website.

The problem is there is that there are so many people who boast about both that there seems to be no happy medium. Those who use adsense swear by it and those who use affiliates swear by them.

Well I am going to try to help you with this question. The real answer to this question, is based on a few lot of factors about your blog. I will go through each of the factors with you and show you where you belong with your blog.

  • what is the topic of your blog?

This is the first question you need to ask yourself. What is the topic of your blog. If you have a blog that maintains focus around one particular topic, then affiliate advertising may be the way you want to go.

Some examples of sites that maintain focus are:
ben-10-alien-force.info: This is a project my 6 year old and myself work on. Its a blog whose topic focus’s around the hit cartoon network tv series Ben 10.

handbag buzz: One of the blogs who is owned by a friend whom I help by offering them free blog coaching. She focus’s all her topics and posts around handbags. Topics such as cleaning, various handbag designs, mens handbags, etc.

Free iphone 3GS: This is a blog that talks all about the iphone. It is specifically designed to help people get iphones for free. Basically, if you want to learn about iphones or get an iphone here is the place.

Blogs that center around a specific topic are looking to obtain very targeted traffic, the iphone site is specifically geared towards people interested in cell phones. The handbag site is specifically geared towards people who like handbags, the ben10 site is specifically geared towards children who like ben10.

Because the audience is so targeted, its easy to know what they are going to buy, therefore there is better profits in commission based sales. Clearly children who go to a ben10 site, are also going to bug their parents to buy a really cool poster they see on the site. What I don’t know however is that that same child is going to buy a dora the explorer poster.

This is why affiliate marketing is so powerful for this type of site. Unlike with Google adwords and similar programs, with affiliate marketing you can hand select products and stores who you wish to work with, which in the long run greater increases your chance of making a sale.

The fact is however not all blogs are quiet so targeted. For example a personal blog may have different posts and a different type of traffic every day. That person is going to have know clue what the visitor is interested in (hint if your target audience is teens through people in early 20’s, music sells!). If they have no clue what the visit is interested in, Google adsense is often the way to go.

Google targets the traffic that comes to your site automatically and they do so for each page and post you make. So if today you post about some speech the president made, today’s post may have a bunch of political links distributed via Google adsense. Then if tomorrow you post about how sick you are feeling, on tomorrows post Google may pick to advertise cold medications.

If you have a news style blog, adsense may also be a good choice for you. No one knows what tomorrows news is going to be and no one knows who is going to look at what story. Today you may have a story about a plane crash and get 100 people who want to read about. Tomorrow you may be posting about a tornado and get an entire different audience of the exact same size. Both audiences have different interests. For this, Google adsense comes in handy.

  • Why do you own a blog?

I ask this because if you are not passionate about the topic you have chosen or if you are using article spinning/article generating software, then its very likely you are one of the ones who wants to own as many blogs as possible and do as little work as possible.

If this is the case, then Google adsense is likely the way for you to go (at least to start). The reason for this is because you are going to have a massive amount of blogs, and then you can use Google adsense on each of them thus increasing your chances for clicks, and your profits. If you can master this method, good for you, its not my method.

However those who do use the above method, are advised as time goes on to slowly start to switch yours blogs over based on the topic to affiliate marketing, if you can target correctly there is better money in affiliate marketing.

Just like with the last question, do you own your blog because its an addition or part of a new website? Or perhaps your blog is the news website and that is the reason for its existence, to share news. If this is the case, just like above, Google adsense is the way for you.

Basically adsense is the way to go when you have absolutely no idea who your target audience is, or if your target audience changes day by day and/or post by post.

Also please note when I refer to Google adsense I am referring to any adsense style program when you are paid on a per click basis and the ads are targeted for you.

  • What age group is your target audience

This is a very important question to ask yourself. What is the age range of the people you are targeting. If you are targeting people ages 40 and up, then perhaps Google adsense is right for you.

The reason for this is the majority of people over 40 are more skeptical about where they spend money and usually realize that people who can afford to pay for advertising are also more secure to hand over credit card information to. Adsense gets a better click ratio for this reason.

If your target is people aged 14 to 30 they generally are computer suave and only spend money on very specific items. Generally these items revolve around music, television, and sports. If you are targeting this age range and are not using these types of affiliate products in your advertising, then I would strongly recommend Google adsense.

Lastly if you are targeting people between 30 and 40, I would say its a 50/50 toss up. They generally tend to spend more money online, but they also tend to blindly click more. For this reason I recommend people falling in this category use a mix of the two.

If you really can’t figure out what type of advertising to use on your blog, don’t hesitate to check out my front page and drop me a line, I’d be glad to offer you some assistance.

Blog Advertising: Generating income with reseller programs

Click here to get IM Buzz Software Membership

This doesn’t apply to “every” blog but it definitely applies to a lot of them. Today I am going to talk about the benefits of reseller programs and just what they offer you and how for very little investment you can sell your own products at whatever price you want. This also allows you to create affiliate programs for your software and pay others to sell for you.

Generally there are two popular types of reseller programs. The first is that of ebooks and the second is that of software. This is why its doesn’t apply to every blog, not every blog is set up in a way where software or ebooks are beneficial.

However for those who have tech blogs, marketing blogs, template blogs, or any similar type of blog, you really want to consider what I am about to say.

The hottest selling things on the internet today are information and software. Ebooks teach people how to do things in a hurry. Most ebooks are short and sell for around $60.00.

As an affiliate of someone selling an ebook you generally get paid between 10% and 30% of each sale. That means you make between $6 and $20. However if you flip those odds around, you make 10 times that. Why?

As an affiliate selling a product, you are one person. You benefit from each product you sell. As the owner of a product, you make not only the $60 per sale, you can also make $40 per sale on sale made by YOUR affiliates.

The question is what reseller programs to get involved with. This can be very tricky and it is hard for me to recommend. I know what works for me but what works for me will not always work for others.

For me I have a platinum upgrade account with http://www.imbuzzsoftware.com.

IMBuzz Software has given me 30+ applications that I can completely rebrand, customize, and sell at whatever cost I want. They have also given me access to over 15 ebooks that I can rename, re-write, change, do whatever I want to, sell, give away whatever.

Whats great about reseller ebooks is after you buy them, you can go through and add your own affiliate links through out the ebook and then just give the books away and convert that way.

If you have a marketing blog or can in some way benefit from giving away marketing software and ebooks, you also can get a free silver account account for a limited time. Not quiet as many options as the gold and platinum accounts, but it gives you a basic idea of whats inside.

The software is of AMAZING quality. Thats the best I can tell you. You’ll have to check the rest out for yourself. If you are targeting anyone trying to start a home based business, creating a blog or website, or in some other way involved with internet marketing, in my opinion you are a fool not to invest in a platinum upgrade account.

After you have your reseller account, start setting up affiliate programs for the software and ebooks with pay dot com. It costs nearly nothing (if anything at all) and can definitely generate you some serious income from products.

If you have a reseller program you want me to test, drop me a url. I will look into it. (I make no promises of investment but I am always on the lookout)

The Marketing Guru Scam

Do you have your own personal marketing guru, advertising guru, affiliate guru, or blogging guru? It seems everyone these days has some personal guru. Perhaps you follow your favorite marketing guru’s blog. Perhaps you follow them on twitter and myspace. Perhaps you even get personal coaching from them.

If you do follow a guru of your own, then you are probably wondering why they are continuing to be successful but you are following their methods to a tee and you are not. Is there something they aren’t telling everyone? Well that’s what I am here today to talk to you about.

This little bit of information is what no marketing guru or marketing expert wants you to know. I am about to expose their biggest secret to success. Its what makes them successful and what keeps you from ever becoming successful on their level. In my opinion this is the biggest hoax the world has ever known and it happens by accident.

You want to know the secret of their success? Its really simple. Its fame! What do I mean? Well just sit back and think for a second and it will all become clear.

We have a guy who we will call James. Now James got into blogging when no one new what a blog was. James started his blog just as a side project like so many others do now. Only at the time like I say, no one new what a blog was. No one new google would love the fact blogs were a constantly updated source of information.

No one realized that because of that a blog craze would get started and every business in the world would try to create a blog of some sort. But what James did know is that one day he started to see a bit more traffic to his blog then usual. In fact not just a bit but his traffic almost doubled in a month.

He realized that it was because of this new found craze and he was going to take advantage of it. So James wwent out and started collecting all the tools that he could find that would help him get the word out about his blog. At this time tools were just being developed. Because of this he got the chance to try the best and the worst of tools for free. Some worked and some didn’t.

He figured out what did work for him and went with it. Because he was of the first to do this, as the craze grew on and became more popular, more people started using these tools. The thing was his blog was already their. So naturally people checked it and his blog became more and more popular.

He became rich and it was all by accident. But wait it doesn’t end their!

Because he was the first to use these tools they worked for him, but as the craze went on the tools became less and less effective. Why? More and more people used them until the blog tools were not much different then the search engine tools. We all know how hard it is to get a website number one in a search engine when you are fighting 300,000,000,000 people for the same tame? Well thats how it became for bloggers.

But James already made his money and had his claim to fame. So he didn’t care that these tools no longer worked. What he did know was that now 250,000 people were watching everything he typed. He could sell a new product faster then ever because people started saying “well he must know what he’s doing because he is successful”.

So James decides he is going to write an ebook about marketing. The truth is the ebook is 2nd rate and not very useful to many people with a lot of made up statistics and facts. It didn’t matter though because with 250,000 people thinking he knew his stuff it would still sell. So he publishes the ebook and charges people $50 a copy for his inside “secrets”. now out of his 250,000 readers, 100,000 buy his new ebook.

Guess what? He just made $5M and he can claim he is STILL a marketing guru, after all how else could his ebook be so successful as to make him $5M? But the fact is the ebook was only successful because he was famous within his own right.

This is the scam behind most marketing gurus and blogging gurus. They don’t know what they are talking about and they are only successful because they were at the right place at the right time. This is what makes most MLM people fail but the higher up levels continue to make money. They had a claim to fame when the company was first created and ran with it even after things were falling apart! People trusted them, they got rich because of it and others got poor.

So how do you avoid self proclaimed gurus and find legit gurus? Its HARD! Especially now that people have gotten into the practice of displaying their earnings online. I have a really simple tip though. If a person is only marketing one product, one company, one idea, one ebook, or MLM they don’t have a clue. They got rich and ran with it.

Why do I say this? Because those who REALLY figure out marketing online, realize its more profitable to sell in QUANTITY!!! No marketing and/or affiliate professional is making 2M a year off one product unless its via a claim from fame. Instead a good affiliate marketer, a good marketing professional, and a good blogger will be able to show you a portfolio of things they do and/or have been involved in.

For example in the past 10 days of using Adollow:

Click to enlange

Click to enlange

Or my last months earnings with PayDotCom:

Paydotcom earnings

Paydotcom earnings

I could post over 100 different sales accounts I have that all make between $30 and $100 a month. You can try to calculate the math and tell me if you think I am a success or not. Nope I didn’t have an ebook that sold 5 million copies, nope I didn’t happen to be in the right place at the right time, and no most of the marketing professionals I know can’t help me achieve the results I get.

I have no secret to my success. I do everything I claim I do in the blog. As I do more I post more (okay I’ll be honest not EVERY trick I use is posted yet but they are all coming and if sked none of them are hidden!)

Why is this important to tell people? Because the truth is I know many people who follow these self proclaimed guru experts and will swear by their advise when the truth is if they stopped spending all this money making an already rich person even richer, perhaps they would find a website like this were they can learn some truths behind marketing, advertising, and blogging.

Converting Traffic into Cash

Although this blog is here to teach people how to make money with their own blog, it seems mostly all I have done is show blog marketing tactics. There is actually a very good reason for that. The reason is because its easy to set up a website, but getting people to visit it is a whole different matter. Imagine opening a store but having no customers to sell products to. Big bummer. Blog marketing is the biggest part of owning a blog as a source of income.

Today I am going to talk about something different though. Today I want to start talking to you about how to turn the traffic you have generated through blog marketing into cash and profits. In order to do this you have to understand the traffic of the internet.

There are basically three types of people on the internet. There are people who are online to socialize, meet people, and make friends. There are people who are online to learn about topics and be educated about things. Then there are people who are online because they want to make money. This means the vast majority of traffic you get from your blog marketing are people not looking to spend money!

These are key facts for a blogger to know. This is why blogging is so successful. First your blog adheres to the people who like to socialize. People can come to your blog and they can comment back and forth with other people who share similar interests with them. They can also get to know you, the author of the blog, who they already know shares an interest. The interest of course is whatever your blog is about.

These people rarely want to shop online and cheap impulse buying is what they do best. Products and software that are cheap and/or free are the easiest things to advertise to these people. They are not looking for anything but friendship, so unless something really catches there eye and says “buy me now” they are not likely to spend money.

Next if you paid attention to my very first articles you will no that I believe you need an actual topic to focus your blog on. This topic can be anything from paintball to pets or from cars to dating. The point is your articles or blog posts should be teaching people something. Perhaps the newest and greatest in paintball gaming news, perhaps you are teaching how to sew, or perhaps you are teaching the latest video games cheats. The fact is you are teaching something in each of your posts.

Now the people who are coming to your blog to learn something are not exactly looking to shop, but they are not entire against it if they see something worth buying. Each article you create should in some way promote a product or service that would benefit readers of your blog. This way when someone says “hey I didn’t know they came out with a new paintball gun 8000″ or when someone says “wow this site really gives me access to all that” they have both learned something and become interested in a new product they otherwise didn’t know existed.

Although the people who visit your blog to learn something are not specifically looking to spend money, if they learn the right things are also not opposed to it. This is the type of blog traffic that you can advertise more expensive products and services too. These are people you want to sign up for monthly based services that can make you money each month when they pay their bill. For example if you are a blog talking about the latest new movie releases you may want to be trying to sell a monthly service to netflix. This way each month when a person renews their subscription you make money.

The last people are actually the easiest to deal with and the ones who unknowing make you the most money. These are the people who are looking to make money! These are the least important people to your blog, but the most important people to your success. This is what makes or breaks a blog and this is the hardest part to figure out.

People who are looking to make money and find your blog, found it because they want to make money the same way you do. This is effectively how you create the infamous downline. What is a downline? A downline are all the people who you get to sign up and make money for you!

What do I mean? It works exactly like this, you sell 5 products for company xyz. Company xyz pays you 50% of every sale you make. So if you make a $10 sale company xyz pays you $5. Company xyz also offers to pay you 25% commission of each person you can get to signup under you and make sales.

This means if you get your friend johnny to start selling products for company xyz and he makes a $10 sale, company xyz will pay you $2.50 for his sales. If you can find 100 people like johnny and they each make $10 sales, then you have made $250 and you haven’t even done anything.

This is the secret of the MLM scam. However we can use the scam that is MLM to help us make money off of others looking to make money. The trick is not finding a great MLM and building a downline, but rather finding products you like and just selling them. After you find the products you want to sell, its just a matter of making it convenient for others to signup under you.

The first question is where do the products come from? You don’t just magically have an unlimited supply of products to sell right? Actually that’s wrong. You do have an unlimited number of products. Most quality companies have what is called an affiliate program. An affiliate program is a program set up by a business so you can become and affiliation of their company. This is basically a glorified way of saying you are a commission based salesperson.

When you signup for a companies affiliate program you get access to special banners, linking codes, and other means of advertising that company and their products. Each time a person clicks your special code and makes a sale on their website you make money. Sound confusing? Its really very simple.

Take friend blaster pro for example. When visiting their website you can see a link at the top right that says “affiliates”. After signing up on that page you receive a banner (seen at the top right of this blog) with a special linking code. Now each time someone clicks that banner and buys a copy of friend blaster pro you get paid $12.00.

So now that you know a little about affiliate programs its just a matter of finding the programs that are selling products you like and can offer on your blog and placing the appropriate advertising in the correct location on your blog. That’s the last thing I am going to discuss with you in this article. How to correctly place your advertising.

Keeping in mind the three different types of people that come to your blog, you want advertising placed in a way that appeals to each market. For your social traffic, those people who buy on impulse, you want advertising that is clearly seen throughout your site. These are your sidebar banners and your top of the page banners.

Imagine if you will that you have a blog about raising children. Your social visitors are coming to your page to learn about you and your interaction with your children. They are likely parents and want to interact with other parents. Like I said before, these people are not looking to buy products.

However if they are visiting your blog and see you have a banner to the Nickelodeon magazine or to the highlights magazine they just may say to themselves “I haven’t seen this magazine sense I was a child and I loved it. I am going to buy a copy for my child”. This is impulse buying at its finest and you have made it super easy just by placing a banner to the right product.

This differs greatly from your traffic that has come to learn something. Using the same parenting blog example lets talk about that traffic. Lets say you were researching a topic about parenting and you came across a new type of stroller just released by Gerber. Now honestly no parent is going to buy a new stroller on impulse. Its either something they need or something they don’t. This is the type of product you can educate a person about!

You make a blog post talking all about strollers and your experiences and perhaps how the back wheels of the model you bought kept sticking making it a pain to use. You mention this new stroller and tell of all its features. Now if someone looking to be educated about strollers finds your blog, they are three times as likely to read a post and make an educated buying decision as they are to just look at a picture and say “that’s the one I want”. Honestly the people who want to look at pictures and decide, are not shopping online! People you educate are the people your blog posts are geared at. These are also the people your highest commission based payouts come from.

The last type of traffic is the ones looking to make money. They come to your blog and see what you are advertising and say “hey I want to do this”. Well you want to make it really easy for them. You want to have a page set up entirely to helping them making money. To do this you do nothing more or less then create a page on your blog that says something to the effect of “webmasters” or “make money” or “affiliates”.

On that page you add links using your affiliate codes (Make sure you check you code. Some affiliate programs give you different code for people to sign up under you). You just list all the companies who you sell products for, a brief description of the types of products they have, and your payout rate. For example you may say something like like this:

Friend Blaster Pro: A great affiliate program for those who get a lot of social traffic. Easy to sell to myspace visitors. They pay $12.00 per sale and 20% for each affiliate referral.

Now when people come to your page looking to make money, they see your affiliate recommendations and sign up under your name. They set up their own blog or website and start making sales for themselves. Only by doing this, they also make you even more money.

This is the basics of converting the traffic you gain from blog marketing into money. My next post is going to be about interacting with other blog owners to increase your downline and make you even more money. Hope this information helps.

Oh and if you are looking for an affiliate of your own, I highly recommend you check out Linkshare. This is an affiliate company that has a multitude of advertisers. This means you can signup for 1 program and have access to hundreds of different companies and products. Some of the companies whose products you can sell through linkshare are itunes, macy’s, McAfee, AT&T, COMPUSA, and Nickelodeon. There are actually hundreds and hundreds of companies listed through this one program. This is definately a must check out!! (please note if signing up for this program you are a publisher, not an advertiser.)

Blog Marketing Toolbox

Marketing toolbox After a while everyone with any kind of success can tell you that they have created a toolbox of blog marketing applications that they use. These are the applications that either help them with marketing or help them with advertising. I am no exception to this! My toolbox contains my favorite twitter marketing applications, my favorite myspace applications, and my favorite social marketing programs. Today I decided I am going to bring my toolbox of tools to you.

Below thats exactly what you are going to find, my list of tools in the order of importance to me. Please note some of these tools have multiple functions like making money on twitter and making money on myspace. I have included a brief description with each application or program.

  1. Friend Blaster Pro: Friend blaster pro is the most brilliant application I have ever used. This is a complete myspace advertising solution all in one package. Whether you just want to do some myspace marketing or whether you plan to fully utilize the social marketing platform to make money on myspace this program is my highest recommendation. This does everything from build your friends list to post bulletins and its all completely automated! If it were not for this application I would not even attempt to make money with myspace.
  2. The Twitter Bot This is one of my most useful finds ever! It helps with twitter marketing and making money on twitter. It does automated twitter followings, automated tweets, automated retweets, hashtag monitoring, and a ton of other useful things! Again I say if you plan to do any twitter advertising or plan on making money with twitter you want this program!! Trust me. Even if you use twitter to talk to others, when you are not at your computer this program works wonders!!
  3. Tweetlater I cannot recommend creating an account here enough. A free account just doesn’t cut it. In fact take the one week trial of a paid tweetdeck account and you will see why. I pay for a monthly subscription to this program for one reason and one reason only, it can do what the tweet bot can’t do. It can stay running no matter what I do or where I go! I don’t even have to have my computer running and this program works great! I can post for months and months by setting up tweets for later dates and times. Where tweetbot can do the same, it also uses a lot more resources so their are definitely times I need to turn it off. Making money with twitter has never been easier then it is with this program. Its only downfall as I have noticed it is can’t auto retweet.
  4. Free Viral Tweets This program is the best at getting people to retweet your message. It is also used by websites all across the net that claim to “grow your twitter following” on autopilot. This program works and gets others to tweet your website. Check out what the paid vcersion offers and think of how many times you have clicked such links that others have posted. Its hard to explain this program but its definately one I can’t live without!
  5. WebCeo I would have crap search results if it were not for this program. Its totally free and comes as my one and only SEO recommendation. In fact just using the analysis reports from this software you can effectively offer paid advice to companies! This software is no joke. Companies like IBM even trust this software. There are paid services and seminars offered through the company that makes this software and I do recommend them highly, but the software itself is priceless… yet its free!!!
  6. Instant Article Wizard Pro Simply put, I can’t survive as a blogger without this program. It takes to much time to do the correct research involved on any number of topics and this program automates the program for me. Of all the programs I use I actually use this one the most. To see my full review of it check Getting Free Articles for your Blog
  7. Easy comment 1.1 Although this program no longer works for firefox as of firefox 3.5 it still works perfectly with the flock web browser. This cuts down the time it takes to comment on blogs greatly! I posted an article about using this plugin with greyhat blog marketing practices to build a lot of backlinks in a hurry. Its worth check out!
  8. Link Referral This is a free web based program used to build traffic, find other blogs, and build links. This is the easiest traffic to come by and the program is one of the few of its kind that I have found actually works!
  9. lavalinx This is a program I haven’t explained yet on this blog. Its for social bookmark trading. I won’t go into details yet but if you can figure it out, its hundreds of free one way links!!
  10. flock Web Browser Its kind of funny the a web browser made it into my toolbox but in this day and age of being social, it seemed the only real way to go. The toolbars and features it offers are uncompairable and thats especially true of a blogger. I can’t even get into half the features of this blog without making a full manual so all I say is try it for yourself.

If you have REALLY helpful tools that do things my tools don’t, please feel free to share. Make sure however they are not just a link to a program that does something my toolbox can already do!
